This guide will show you step by step on how to update the firmware on your AirBar for MacBook Air sensor and also how to install an earlier firmware version.
The latest firmware, version 1.47, includes:
- Improved tap gesture functionality
- Open System Preferences and click the AirBar preference pane
- Select the Firmware Update tab Make sure that your AirBar sensor is plugged in and that you have an internet connection, the software will now check what firmware version is installed.
- If there is a newer firmware version available, a button named Update Firmware will appear.
Press the Update Firmware button to install the latest firmware on your AirBar sensor.
The new firmware file will now be downloaded to your AirBar sensor. To load the older firmware press Load Older Version button.
- If there is a newer firmware version available, a button named Update Firmware will appear.
- Press the Update Firmware button.
- The new firmware file will now be downloaded and installed on your AirBar sensor.
- Do not unplug the AirBar sensor during this process.
- When the new firmware is installed, you will be asked to disconnect and reconnect the AirBar sensor.
- You can now continue using your AirBar sensor.
- Refer to Help button if you face any difficulty with the firmware update.

Would this firmware work on the 15.6" Airbar used on a 15" Macbook Pro?
AirBar 15.6" is only compatible with Windows 10 PCs. The firmware of this AirBar model won't work on a MacBook Pro.
